New Book for your reading pleasure.

Gabe's Brides

One letter. Two identical sisters. One very confused man.

Gabe Tucker is at his wit’s end. It was bad enough that his brother and his wife had died in an Indian raid. Now he, an aimless drifter, is the sole guardian to their two children. Gabe’s life is out of control, and he’s forced to get a job and send off for a mail-order bride. Maybe a good woman will help, but after one quick letter, he gets too many brides.

Sara Jane McFarland checked with the post office and found a letter from Gabe Tucker. It was addressed to Miss McFarland with no first name. The correspondence was from the Friends Mail-Order Bride Agency.

So that’s what her twin sister, Alma Dean, had been up to this last month. There was no way that Sara was going to let Alma get married first. Sara tucked the letter in her skirt pocket. She was leaving tomorrow for Briar, Texas.

Alma Dean finds out what her sister has done and complains to her mother. In an instant, the McFarland family follows Sara to Briar, Texas.

Hi Everyone!  It has been some time since I have been on this blog. I've been writing!

My Latest book is Trapped in Wolf Creek

Could she be the answer to his problems or more trouble?
Travis Andrews watched his partner leave for the gold fields of California. Christmas was going to be bleak, and he didn’t do well alone. Storm clouds hurried him to the town of Wolf Creek. Barely escaping a twister and then a snowstorm, he couldn’t help but wonder about the people on the stagecoach. They were overdue, and it didn’t look good for them. Sometimes, the Lord nudged him to do things, and this was one of those. He needed to find those passengers.
Faith Rosner stepped onto the stagecoach going west to visit her Aunt Clara in Wyoming. She didn’t look back. With Papa gone, there was nothing left for her in Bushnell. Nothing she wanted that is. This Christmas looked to be a sad one. Then things got worse with a terrible storm and blizzard when out of the snowy prairie, he came.
Was he the one she’d waited for all her life?

Alone in Austin is ready for your Reading Pleasure

Jacklin runs the biggest cattle ranch in the county, but she's beginning to want a family of her own. She turns to an advice column she finds in the paper.
Dear Lovelorn,I am alone and tired of it. I own a ranch and you’d think with all the men I hire, there’d be one that I would want to marry. Or that would want to marry me. Truth is, they are all kind of scared of me. I’m Texas tough, but I have a heart that wants to pour out my love on the right man, and my own heart is dry and getting brittle. I need the love of a good man. Help me, please. I can drive, whip, and brand cattle, but I am at a loss on how to get a man.
Help me,
Alone in Austin

Dear Alone in Austin,
You have got a problem. Men don’t want to be branded by a strong woman. They need to see that you’re soft and frilly at heart and that you need a man to take care of you. I admit, you’d be a tough one for a man to want to walk down the aisle with. You didn’t say, but are you pretty in any way?
Here’s my advice. Try throwing away your whip and taking off your chaps and wear a womanly dress. Don’t yell and try speaking in a quiet, demure voice with words that would make a man feel like he was a king. And of course, we all know that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Forget about driving the beef and work on cooking it.
Yours Truly: The Lovelorn.

Jacklin might just find the love of her life.

Write On and Keeping Out of Trouble

This is the latest book I'm writing. Along with a few others. I'm  having fun writing all the stories on my schedule. And it's a good thing because I have a lot of stories to write.

Years ago, the Lord told me to sit down, write your stories, and stay out of trouble.

I have tried to abide with that word.  And as I look out at the digital landscape of twitter and fb, I can see why the Lord gave me this word.

There is drama to the right and hate to the left. Reason is out and feelings are in. And I don't want to get caught up in the middle. So I am writing and writing and writing.

These times we are in, remind me of the Rudyard Kipling poem IF.  If you can keep your head

So I came up with some things to help me keep my head and keep me on track. And I went to God's Word for help.

First, There is nothing new under the sun.  The Poem IF was written in 1895 over a 125 years ago. Things have always been crazy.

2.  Philippians 4 (KJV) tells us what to think on.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
3. And then go to the Great Commandments given by Jesus  in Matt 22 35-40. “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
I don't know about you, but that is enough to keep me busy and out of trouble. My word for this year is love. And as you know, that's not easy when words are flying and people are angry.
I hope you all have a wonderful year and can keep your head in these turbulent times.
Blessings

Happy New Year! Now what to do with it

I love snow. This picture is from a few years ago. Today it is sunny, bright blue skies and in the sixties.  Not bad for winter. But I always love the snow when it comes. Here in my part of Texas, it's hit or miss. And we never have to shovel it.

So we have a new year and a new decade to work with now. I have big plans for 2020. Of Course, they are all subject to the Lord's Will. His way not mine.

I plan to write 30 books this year - so I'll be on my computer typing away.  But I also plan to enjoy this year and the wonderful people He has put around me. To sit outside when it's nice and have sweet chats with my husband. To work in the garden and watch plants grow and pretty flowers bloom. To read the Bible more and pray more. Can't ever have too much of God.

And then there is the forever New Years diet and resolutions.  I have cut out cokes and sweet tea. Although I might give myself a treat on Sundays.  So far, I've lost four pounds.  In addition, I am doing the intermittent fast. Eating between 10 AM and 6 PM  So far, it's working.

And do  I really need to say it - Exercise.  My goal is to walk a mile a day on the treadmill to start.  I did half a mile today.

Set goals and go after them. Life was meant to be lived not endured. Discover something you like to do. Write down things you want to accomplish. Big and small. And determine to do them.

However  you're going to use this new year, I pray that you and your endeavors will be blessed.

Now to the Bookshelf.

Del Selmer has served his time and is now ready to use his carpentry skills to help build the town. But he wants a wife and to start a family. But he can't get over Jericho's past.

Enjoy this sweet and clean Christian historical mail-order bride story set in 1880s Montana.

An Agent for Sabrina  Book 30

The newest in the Pinkerton Matchmaker series is up and running. I think you're going to enjoy this Sweet historical romance with fun and faith and always a happily-ever-after.

She is running from her past.

He is running from his future.

Sabrina Jones never expected to be set free from her life as a saloon girl. Thanks to a gift from Rand Ketcham, a notorious bounty hunter, she was able to leave her old life in the saloons. Colorado was where she wanted to go. What to do was still a mystery until she reached Denver and saw an ad in the paper for women to apply as Pinkerton agents. She figured she’d be good. All those years in the saloon had taught her how to read people. That ought to come in handy as a detective.

Tom Wesley liked the free, wild life. He was a Pinkerton agent and good at it. Not many would challenge his gun or fist. Only his father. Preacher Jacob Wesley was a strict man. Tom had left because of his rules. But the old man still had strings attached to him. Growing up under the Word of the Lord to obey your father were glued to Tom’s soul. So far, he hadn’t outrun them, though he’d tried awful hard.

He had until he was thirty. At least that was what his father had told him. Tom tried to duck the words, but they haunted him. Then again, he was only twenty-nine.

When their lives collide, Tom and Sabrina are thrown together in a case that will test them both.

I was talking the other day about writing and some of the surprises that our stories and characters come up with. Yes, they can and do surprise the author.

Greta was in trouble. Big trouble. And her family was in danger. What she did was so innovative and different that all I could do after writing it was shut my computer an send it to my proofreader. If she thought it was too much, I'd rewrite it.

Good thing - she loved it.

Take a look and see what you think.

Greta's Story

A sweet historical Christian romance. 1867

Dread that she and Grandpapa would starve, and relief that now, she had no choice but to go to Chase Logan. She’d agreed to be his mail order bride and prayed she’d made the right decision.

Chase Logan had sent Greta the money to come to Texas. He needed a good woman. His hands shook as he read the letter. She was coming. His nights wouldn’t be lonely. No longer would he and his two brothers have to eat beans every meal. Yeah, he’d done the right thing. He needed a woman.
