Are You Lion Bait?

1 Peter 5:8 Warns -- Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. KJV
I looked into the reason lions roar - found a few interesting tidbits. They roar to announce a contest- that is to take over a pride or claim territory. The roaring lion is not out looking for dinner. He's looking to take over. To dominate and claim territory - totally to the death if need be. So the devil is out to get us if we're not paying attention, recognizing the times. The preceding verses give us a clue on how to be of sober spirit and vigilante. Be subject one to another and clothed in humility. If a church has those who gripe and grumble, it is an invitation for the roaring lion to advance. Where there is dissension - there will be our adversary seeking to devour individuals, reputations, and churches. Be wise people. Most of all be humble. Humble yourselves under the Mighty Hand of God for He cares for us. The Word goes on to tell us to cast all our care upon Him for He cares for us. HE is the Lion of Judah. The One who will not be defeated by the roaring lion of the devil. Be not mistaken - those who are prideful in their own abilities and power are the very ones the devil seeks - because they are the ones he can destroy. Only in the safety and security of our Lord are we safe, and only by the blood of Jesus are we accepted into the pride of the Lion of Judah.

What to do in A Funk?

Well, today I fell into a bit of a funk. No big reason why, just little scratches that annoyed and pestered my mind. This is not usual for me, so it gave me something to think about. At first, I was greatly annoyed at how cheap my faith appeared to be. Here nothing really awful happened and I was in a whirl. I've been on a journey of learning to trust the Lord. And have come to realize that I need these little blasts of reality that show me that I am not the one who is taking care of business. So the still small voice conjoined with my little faith and said, "Rejoice. Rejoice in the various trials and troubles of life. Rejoice that there is One greater than you who is above all circumstances. Rejoice that the Lord cares for you and will hold you up in the small dents life dishes out as well as the big crashes." So I found my faith, small as it was, joined with the Word of God and His Holy Spirit completely able to overcome my pesty troubles. So I rejoice and again I say rejoice! Oh how wonderful it is to be a follower of the One True God.

Obama -- Moses or Pharoah?

Months before the November election last year, the Lord told me Obama was the man. Not words I wanted to hear, but who knows better than God? For the last four months, the United States has been under the authority of President Obama. Like it or not, the man is president.
But the Lord had gone on to tell me to pray for Obama, whether I liked it or not. He is God’s chosen vessel for this time. The Word of God tells us that the Lord holds the heart of the leaders in His hand. Proverbs 21:1 We would be wise to recognize this.
I believe that the decision has not been made as to which leader we will see. Obama can be either a Moses that leads our nation back to the Lord and away from the immoral abyss, or he can be a Pharaoh intent on the destruction of God’s people.
The decision is up to God’s people. As the Word says in 2 Chronicles 7:14 If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.KJV
I have sinned and not prayed for the man as I should. I repent, here and now, and ask in Jesus Name that Obama would be saturated in the truth of the Lord’s Word. That Obama’s heart would be turned toward God. And that the Christians of this nation would humble themselves and forsake the ways of the world.
Church—we can speak Obama into Pharaoh or pray him into Moses. The choice is ours.
