The King is Coming!

I took this picture and didn't notice the crown and face. But it's there and it wasn't photo-shopped.

Now just because the clouds formed a crown and a face doesn't mean anything. Not really.

But those of us called by His Name, we are to know the seasons. He said we wouldn't know the day or the hour, but we would know the season,

For me, it's a reminder to look up. Keep my thoughts and mind on Jesus. For whether He returns during my lifetime or not, I will meet Him.

All will stand before Him. The only question then will be if He knows you.

Matthew 7:21-23 and Matthew 25:31-46

We live on this earth for a short time, but eternity is written in our hearts. Today, live as if you will live forever with your eternal destination in mind.

Be wise. Seek the Kingdom while it may be found.

John 3:16New King James Version (NKJV)
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

I've got a COVER to show you.

$$$ Money Matters

Money~ Money~ Money

Yes, we have all heard how money is bad. The root of all evil many would say. However, the truth of scripture actually says:

1 Timothy 6:10 (KJV)
10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: ...

Money, in itself, is no more evil than the things you can purchase with it. Food, cars, candy, etc.
But it is the love of money that corrupts. And that wayward love and idolization of money can infect rich and poor alike.

But money does matter. I write books with the hope of making money to pay bills and some day set my husband free to retire from working at WalMart.

In truth, money is a great motivator. I have to admit that even though I write for the Lord, if I had more money than I knew what to do with, I'm not sure how much I would actually write.

Money, and the need for it, drives most of us to work. We need it. Would be nice if it wasn't so, but the world we live in demands it. Money is the grease that keeps the world and most of us going.

So use your money wisely, recognizing that it is but a tool for the world we live in.

Freedom!

Remember the Alamo

Freedom doesn't come cheap.
The cost is high in blood, sweat, and tears.
Once wrought, it must be preserved
with the same amount of energy.

At a recent visit to the Alamo
My friend said she felt peace.

I, on the other hand, heard the battle.
Horses and men screaming
Shouts and gunfire
Bullets whining past my ear.

The awful explosion and shock of cannon
The clash of sword; metal on metal.
And then the awful quiet of death.

The only freedom the defenders of the
Alamo won that day
Came in death's repose.
Some to glory
Others not.

Remember the Alamo
Remember that freedom doesn't come free
Fight on Land of the Brave
Fight on!

...
But be wise.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Eph.  6:12

At the End of the Day

Birds flit branch to branch to find their nighttime perch.
Calling and tweeting they call out the alarm,
Hurry, sundown approaches.

The winds die down and the water calms.
Mirror still the pond reflects the failing light.
Hurry, sundown approaches.

Night birds call, beast of the dark ready for the prowl
And the world hunkers down.
to wait.
For the Son
Come, Lord Jesus

Why I Write

     Greta's Story            Maggie's Story            Matt's Story

The Mail Order Brides of Black Horse Mesa is my latest series. I enjoyed writing each one of these novellas. They are perfect for the short read in an afternoon or for reading between errands and appointments.

But why do I write?

I love stories that encourage and entertain and of course end HEA - Happily-ever-after. And the more I write, the more I am amazed by the process.

Sometimes a name or situation pops into my head. Sometimes the story begins with a picture. And then away I go. I love the adventure of discovering the story. Often the conflict sets up as a series of fronts that collide to make the perfect storm. Then it's a matter of letting the characters play out the troubles they find themselves in to come to a satisfying end.

And those characters! More often than not, they surprise me. One day in a meeting with my proofreader while she was going over Maggie's story and I was writing Matt's story, she looked at me and said. "Big John knows something."

I looked over my computer screen at her and said, "He does?"

She stared over her glasses at me. "Yes, you can tell when someone's experienced things."

We started laughing because of course, these are imaginary characters. But when I looked at what I was writing in Matt's Story, I knew exactly what Big John had gone through and it needed to go in the exact spot where I was writing.

I can picture my characters rolling their eyes at their author and how slow she might be at times.

There are many more stories standing in line and waiting for me to write. I hope you enjoy them. Although, I almost hesitate to say they are mine, I'm just the author who is blessed to tell them.

Have a blessed day.

Walk Humbly

Micah 6:7-9

...what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God...
Recently, the Lord gently tapped me on the heart and pointed out I was becoming haughty.

I was in need of an attitude adjustment.

So I repented. Prayed for forgiveness.

And changed my thinking and actions.

To be humble with God is to acknowledge that HE does know what is best for me. That He created all things, gives me all that is good, and anything I do that is good is from Him.

I have no place to proudly call what He has given me as mine. My good works. My great feats.

No, it is all Him. Everything that is good is from my God. The Living God that knows me, loves me, and chastises me.

So my goal is to walk humbly with Him. Freely giving Him praise for what He has given me.

God is good. Rejoice in His goodness and His love. For His love never fails.

You'll enjoy the banter between Matt Logan and his U. S. Marshall uncle, Big John.

A good story of the Old West in Texas 1869. A real western romance that will leave you with a smile.

Coming SOON! Matt's Story

Matt's Story ~ Book 3 of the Mail Order Brides of Black Horse Mesa.

I grew up watching Gunsmoke and all the westerns. They were all over TV and the movies, too. John Wayne - who can beat him in a western.

It's one of the reasons I write stories set in the Old West. I love the allure of freedom and wide open country. And of course horses. Plus sweet romance and HEA.

Matt is the brother of Chase and Tom. They have their brides. In fact, Tom took the one Matt had sent off for. So now he's alone.

Well, not really. He's with his uncle, Big John, and they are on the trail of outlaws.

I won't tell you anymore.  : )
The book should be out the Jan 15th.

Here are the links to the first two books in the series.

New Year - What's the Word?

Usually for the New Year, the Lord gives me a word. For 2016, my word is Advance.

Move forward and keep moving forward.

He even gave me pointers on how to advance.

  • Go the extra mile - don't settle for mediocre results.
  •  Be purposeful - name an action and do it
So far, those are my marching orders. I am excited. I have a lineup of books that I have planned to write and put out this year.

More mail-order bride stories of the west and a contemporary line of romances. (these ought to be fun as my characters will all have dogs in them - Dog Daze Romance)

I hope and pray you all have a wonderful new year filled with His blessings.
