You Gotta Have Heart

NEED > COMPASSION > GIVING > HEART

The USA has been hard hit this year with hurricanes and devastating fires in the west. People are hurting from Houston to Florida to
Puerto Rico to California.

But how is the best way to help others when you don't live near the area?

Charities.

After Harvey attacked Houston, the city was inundated with 'stuff', and many things they couldn't use. Although people gave out of their hearts, what they sent did not always match the need.

The easiest way to give is online to any number of charities. Be careful though because some only give a small portion of your $ to the need while using the bulk to pay their costs.

I give through the Salvation Army and Samaritan's Purse.

Follow your heart and give to help others.
It's the way of the heart.

I have given to the Salivation Army and Red Cross to help my US friends in their endeavours to help those who have lost so much from all of these horrific tragedies.

That's awesome Kathleen. It is incredible that we can help someone with the click of a finger.

My son's dealership took up dog and cat food to send to the shelters where the Houston pets had been taken. They even had feed for the horses and other animals given. They wound up having to rent a semi. The people really turned out to help the animals. The grocery stores took donations to send to all the hurricane victims. The funds are given to a local organization to be spent on what is needed. I haven't seen anything for the people affected by the earthquakes in Mexico yet.

I am not able to donate money. But I have prayed for all the people that was affected by storms, fires, homeless, the hungry, people with no health insurance and are sick, people being shot, children kidnapped. There is something every day. People need to start praying more because it is going to get worse.

Once again sharing my story again on the blogs. I believe in paying it forward and I have done that off and on in my life. It is so nice to see the joy a person can bring to another who may be in distress. And it's great for the soul. But like I said in other posts, its hard when I lost my 29 year old son suddenly and my mom to cancer in this past four months. Now I find myself feeling empty and lost. So, I feel I don't have anything to offer another person because the grief is in the way and it's too overwhelming. I am doing my best to keep my faith up believing that God knows what He is doing and trust in Him. I believe unless people love others Unconditionally, then the gift is not genuine.

My 15 year old daughter is excited that in 2 months she will be 16. This is not so she can drive, it is so she can begin to donate blood. I am so proud of her!!

my Combat Vets group gave money to the combat vets that were affected by these hurricanes. We are also getting together boxes of stuff that was requested to send to some of the vets in Puerto Rico who have been affected as well It was the least we could do to help!
