Penelope

Penelope

Hello, I'm Penelope, the preacher's daughter. I dropped in to tell you a little about my story.

To say that I was completely misunderstood by everyone is an understatement. I did everything by the Book, but I had no friends much less a man that might be interested in me.

Well, perhaps I really was the one that didn't understand, but that's part of my story.

In the little town of Duston, Texas, I was known as the too-gooder. Can you imagine the name-calling, the embarrassment, and the rejection that I was subject, too? All because I tried to help others by pointing out their faults.

I was at a loss on how to have friends much less get a man to like me. And then my parents brought that preacher from Chico to dinner thinking I would settle for him.

Something had to be done. I needed to find out how to get people to like me. A gang of mischievous outlaws, the Burketts, provided me with an opportunity. The town loved the gang. Yes, they took things, but they usually helped those in trouble and gave to those in need. The Burkets knew how to make friends.

So, it came to me in a flash of brilliance. To get people to like me, and maybe find a man who would marry me, I'd join the gang.

As you can imagine, things didn't work out according to my plan.
But ...  well, you'll just have to read my story.

Valentine Countdown Day 7

Welcome to the fabulous Valentine Event of 2019

This is DAY 7
If you have missed some days, you have time to go back and read wholesome romance tips and get more chances to win sweet romance ebooks.

WE were all to write about sweet romance tips. I chose TRUST.

Trust the one you love. I know there have been times when my husband and I have gotten crossways with one another. Usually over stupid things. I know I'm not the only one. And have you ever been there and can't wait to rail at your spouse and let all that anger loose on them? Especially if you think he was the one who messed up.
Then I would hear that small sweet voice. And the Lord would say to me. He loves you. You know that. Trust him.
And the anger would go. Sometimes like a popped balloon, other times it waited for me to make the decision to let the anger go. Trust the one you love.

Come on in to Solomon's Valley Montana and meet the Judge and Rachel.
THE JUDGE'S BRIDE  < FREE 01-10-19
Love Happens... Even when you have 10 kids.

Rachel held the letter in her hand as she watched the banker come up the lane. He was taking the farm. Wasn't it enough she'd been widowed 2 years ago. Worse, good meaning townspeople wanted her to disperse her ten children to families who needed them. She had to keep her family together. The letter from the judge in Montana. Her only hope of keeping her family together was to go west to Montana as a mail order bride.
Judge Solomon Taggart groaned at having to referee a dispute between the two feuding families. That even their children were at each other made him doubt the wisdom of sending that letter to the widow in Minnesota. She had children. She didn't say how many, and he hadn't asked. He grabbed his rifle and swung up in the saddle, praying there'd be no bloodshed. And then he prayed he'd been wise to send that letter.

I've Got a Story to Tell

I've Got a Story to Tell  .... or Two
I love stories. They capture the imagination and transport the reader to different countries, times, and even worlds. You can learn, be encouraged, and strengthened in hard times. Walk in another's shoes and begin understand those from different times, circumstances, and cultures.

In short, you can see the world and beyond through stories.

Why do I write?  To make others happy.  After I'd finished my first book I gave it to my friend to read. We were both a little nervous, what if she didn't like it? But when she finished, she told me it made her happy.

That was all I needed. That was worth the Pulitzer Prize, Best Selling List of all.  It is my goal.

This year I watched the movie ~ The Greatest Showman  ~ I loved it.  I realize they took liberties with P. T. Barnum's life, but I believe the man enjoyed making people happy.

In fact, one of the quotes attributed to him makes my heart sing ~
The noblest art is that of making others happy. --  P. T. Barnum

I've written 34 stories so far and have many more clamoring for their time in a book.
What are some stories that have carried you through a hard time or made you happy?
