I've Got a Story to Tell .... or Two
I love stories. They capture the imagination and transport the reader to different countries, times, and even worlds. You can learn, be encouraged, and strengthened in hard times. Walk in another's shoes and begin understand those from different times, circumstances, and cultures. In short, you can see the world and beyond through stories.
Why do I write? To make others happy. After I'd finished my first book I gave it to my friend to read. We were both a little nervous, what if she didn't like it? But when she finished, she told me it made her happy.
That was all I needed. That was worth the Pulitzer Prize, Best Selling List of all. It is my goal.
This year I watched the movie ~ The Greatest Showman ~ I loved it. I realize they took liberties with P. T. Barnum's life, but I believe the man enjoyed making people happy.
In fact, one of the quotes attributed to him makes my heart sing ~
The noblest art is that of making others happy. -- P. T. Barnum
I've written 34 stories so far and have many more clamoring for their time in a book.
What are some stories that have carried you through a hard time or made you happy?
